SqlOS 11.1.1: Reliable concurrent email signup
Concurrent submissions of the same valid signup code now produce one account and a normal rejection for the other requests.
By Ross Slaney
SqlOS 11.1.1 fixes a race when several requests submit the same valid email signup code at once. Previously, competing requests could attempt to create the same account before the signup artifact was consumed, producing a database uniqueness error instead of an ordinary invalid-or-used-code response.
Hosted, headless and direct signup now claim the signup artifact inside the relational transaction before creating the account. One request succeeds; competing requests receive the normal rejection. If later signup work fails, the transaction rolls back the claim along with the account changes, allowing a valid retry. Incorrect-code attempt tracking remains outside this transaction.
The regression suite covers concurrent submissions and rollback after a failing signup hook. No application configuration or schema change is required for this patch.
